How to play Spiral Galaxies
- Tap Play now. Spiral Galaxies opens right here in your web browser.
- Choose a level: Easy, Medium or Harder.
- Each dot is the middle of one shape. A dot may sit in a square, on a line between two squares, or where four squares meet.
- Tap a square with a dot to pick its shape. The dot turns dark.
- Tap empty squares to add them to that shape. The partner square on the other side of the dot is added for you, so the shape always stays balanced.
- Tap a colored square of the picked shape to take it away again.
- When every square belongs to a shape and every shape is joined together, the puzzle is solved.
- Take your time. There is no clock and no rush.
- When you finish, try the same level again or move up a level.
Three levels
- Easy: Three 5 by 5 grids.
- Medium: Two 6 by 6 grids with more shapes.
- Harder: Two harder grids with many shapes, 7 by 7 on a tablet or computer.
Why people enjoy it
Spiral Galaxies is a quiet, satisfying puzzle about shapes and balance. There are no numbers to add and no words to spell. You look at the dots, picture how far each shape can reach, and watch the grid fill with color. Each solved grid looks like a small patchwork quilt.
Similar games to try
Players who like Spiral Galaxies often go on to Rectangle Split. Split the grid into boxes. Each box holds one number, and that number tells how many squares the box covers. Same Shape Pieces is another good pick. Cut the board into pieces that are all the same shape as the sample. Pieces may be turned or flipped. Islands in the Sea is worth a try too. Shade the sea. Each island of open squares holds one number, and the number tells how many squares it has.
